A nice product I tested the other week was this bamboo memory foam pillow from Quiesta. I don’t normally review pillows, because for the most part we have a couple of pillows, duvets and a mattress and we don’t try new ones much!

What is the Quiesta pillow?
Well, it’s a pillow, that comes vacuum packed in a lovely little carry case. After about 12 hours it’s fully ready to use and inflated. The pillow contains memory foam FLAKES made of bamboo. I’m still not entirely sure how you make foam flakes from bamboo, but they’ve managed it, and it really is comfortable.
Of course, most pillows are comfortable, but I’ve never really tried a memory foam pillow before. So bare that in mind, and I’ve also not ever used a pillow that costs more than about $30 so that’s something to also consider.
If you’re a pillow expert and you’re looking to upgrade your current luxury pillow, I don’t know what features you’d look for, but for me, an average person using pillows in a normal way, it was pretty good! It arrived pretty quickly, and there were no problems with getting it ordered.
How it feels to lay on
The pillow lets your head sink into it and it sort of hugs your head. The only thing I did find was that if you sleep right on the EDGE of the pillow after a while your head starts to slide off it and press the foam together too much, but if you bring it in so the edge of the pillow touches your neck, it’s fine.
More than fine actually, really nice to lay on, and I’ve been using it as my main pillow for the last few weeks, well since I got it! So I’d say it’s certainly a MASSIVE improvement on almost any of the cheap pillows you could find online.
I can’t compare it to the more expensive ones because I’ve not tried them, but I HAVE slept on DOZENS of pillows at various hotels, hostels and Airbnbs throughout the last few years, all over the world.
I can say for certain, that this pillow is more comfortable than any of those. With the exception of maybe one luxury hotel I stayed in one time, this pillow is the best pillow I’ve tried! So if you’re just looking for an easy upgrade to your current cheap or average pillows, this is going to do it for you!
You’ll notice that it actually feels a lot softer than normal ‘single block’ memory foam, which is what most other pillows are made from. That’s because the foam flakes can more easily mould around your head and wrap around your neck. I think it’s a massive improvement and my girlfriend also agrees that it’s the best pillow we’ve slept on!
What’s the pillow case like?
You can actually choose to buy it with or without their custom pillow case. I would say one thing, I tried it without their pillow case and just put a normal silk or cotton pillowcase I had at home on it, and it ruined it. For me, putting a cheap pillowcase on it sort of diluted the lovely effect of the bamboo foam, so don’t do that.
If you’re going to get it, make sure to get their custom white soft pillowcase with it as well. It’s a lot thicker than most pillowcases and it goes a bit further to cushion your head and neck.
I know this reviews been a bit short, but to be honest, there’s not a huge list of things I could talk about with a pillow, other than just how it felt and what it looks like. The only thing to bare in mind is that if you’ve got a darker color scheme for your bed and bedroom, the white pillow case they offer might clash a bit.
If you’ve got a light color scheme, then no problems! Definitely get the pillow case with it, you’ll be much more comfortable!
